Quitting My Blog?

There have been many points throughout 2016 when I felt like deleting my blog and wiping my existence from YouTube. I constantly felt irritated and embarrassed about being someone who writes a blog because of the blogging community on Twitter. It's like being in the school playground and you've got that one child (or group of children) who ruins your fun every break time. I didn't want to come online and have the first thing I think be "bloody hell, not again..." which was happening more often than not.

My Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Makeover

The decorating of our new house has begun, slowly but surely. I am the sort of person who gets an idea and needs to action and complete it straight away, so the 'slowly' bit is slightly irritating my creative juices. Buying a new house and starting a new job don't typically go hand in hand, but when you work for a creative company that is the home of Chalk Paint, hand in hand it goes. Everyday I am looking at creative colour combinations, fancy kitchens, stylish bedrooms and amazing bathrooms, my brain is overflowing with ideas. My monochrome obsessive brain is seeing this thing you called colour.

My Evening Routine

It's my favourite time of year. There's nothing I love more than the winter months where the leaves are starting to fall off the trees, big coats come out of hibernation and I get to wear a ton of cute boots on my feet.  With the change of season, there is naturally a change of routine. Evenings become more snuggled and more pampered - just what I like. So with saying that, here is my winter evening routine.

My Skincare Wishlist

I am all about wishlists. There is so much in the beauty and fashion world that takes my fancy that all I can do is jot them down on my wishlist and tick them off, one by one, gradually. I feel like I've not blogged about beauty in awhile, so I thought I'd share my current skincare wants (and needs!)
My skin has been going through a troublesome time lately so I've been turning to the internet for help and new products inspiration to brighten and moisturise my skin. These are what have taken my fancy...

Love Homeware? You'll Need A Trip To Oliver Bonas Then...

It's not long until I move into my new house with fiancé and I've never been so excited for something in my entire life. I am a kid at Christmas (coming from an adult who loves Christmas!). I wouldn't be me if I hadn't already started a collection of new homeware bits to take into our new place to help put our own stamp on things. I've bought quite a few things already and I am now working on wish lists for when we get those keys. It's fun to buy bits and bobs before hand, but we don't truly know what we'll need and what colour scheme we'll have until we're in there. Saying that, one of the spare bedrooms (aka Hayley's beauty room) is going for a white, rose gold and quirky theme so that's what I am shopping for currently!

My Life Changing Tips For IBS

I'm not one to talk about my personal health and you may not even know that I suffer with IBS, but I do. When you put health problems into an order of importance, life affecting and seriousness IBS isn't exactly up there but we can't hide from the fact it is something that a lot of people have and suffer with. I think IBS is majorly underrated as a health issue, people have the initial assumption that you just go to the bathroom a lot or too little and so what? No one considers what your body goes through, how it makes you feel and how limited your routine and day can become when you base it around being near a bathroom.

The Ultimate Sunglasses With 20% Off...

I've been without sunglasses for quite some time. Since getting glasses a few months ago due to terrible eyesight, I've not been able to wear my sunglasses as they're not prescription, which has been incredibly frustrating. I felt disappointed that I had all these lovely sunglasses sitting in a drawer, unwearable. I decided that I needed to get contact lenses and to celebrate them, a new pair of sunglasses.

Kiehl's Daily Reviving Concentrate Oil - A Magic Spot Remover?

When the opportunity to join in a Kiehl's twitter chat arose a few weeks ago I was extremely excited. In the last year I've had a real interest in the brand and I had seen so many positive reviews online of so many products. But what truly influenced me to dip my toe in the Kiehl's pool and make a purchase was when I went away with my mum and sister to Amsterdam, because in our Air BnB, my sister had a pot of Kiehl's face cream. My sister isn't into products like me (or our mum!) and I thought that if my sister buys Kiehl's skincare, it must actually be good. Within a couple of weeks of being back from our trip, I'd already bought my first piece of Kiehl's skincare. Ultra Facial Cream is my new favourite moisturiser, I absolutely love it (and I new to buy a new one!)

I thought I'd share with you my favourite drugstore highlighters incase you need some inspiration.

My experience in the Oxford Street Lush

I've worked in retail my entire life so I am big on the importance of good customer service. If I have a bad experience in a shop I will never forget it. It's so important to make someone feel welcome, assisted but not smothered and comfortable to be in your shop. I am forever judging sale assistants on their service because after spending many years on the reverse side and now being an Area Manager,  I can't help myself.

I don't write about topics like this on my blog normally but after having such a lovely experience in a shop of a brand I adore, I couldn't help but want to write it down (after talking about it endlessly on my Snapchat).

Beauty Review: Zoella Beauty Sweet Inspirations

I feel so proud of the YouTube community bringing out make up ranges, books and films. What an incredible achievement for a community that came out of nowhere but is now everywhere. This is the 3rd range brought out by Zoella and I was keen to try it out. The packaging is gorgeous and the pale pink, blue and gold theme is super cool. I purposefully didn't watch any first impression videos or read any reviews online of these products because I didn't want other peoples views to impact on my own. I trialed these products over a couple of weeks to get a feel for how good they really are. The packaging is dreamy, but are the products?

The Launch Of The Benefit Brow Collection

I was very excited to be invited by the ladies from the Benefit counter in Debenhems, Milton Keynes to talk about their fantastic new brow collection. I'd seen a lot of hype on these products because of those beautiful PR boxes full the new products bloggers were receiving. I couldn't wait to see some myself and transform my brows that were in desperate need of some TLC.

I Made A Tripod Selfie Mount For The Olympus Pen

I have created a product that'll change the way Olympus Pen users use their camera. The one down side to an Olympus Pen camera is that you cannot use the flip down screen when it's attached to a tripod. That's a major down side for Bloggers and YouTubers who ideally, would like to be able to see themselves in the screen. There's nothing worse than filming an entire video to watch it back and realise it's all out of focus, that you had a fluffy piece of hair and that the items you were talking about weren't even in shot. Talk about irritating!

Prep Your Legs For Summer With Nair Hair Removal

The unpredictable weather has stopped and for the last week I've left the house without a jacket. Ladies, I think Summer has finally arrived. The warm weather means it's time to get those ghostly white legs out and prep them for skirts, dresses, shorts and my favourite of them all, culottes. I don't know about you but I definitely don't look after myself well in the Winter, I am covered up 99% of the time so who cares if I haven't shaved my legs? (My fiancé is a lucky man...)

My legs are out of hiding and I've found the ultimate way to prep them, Nair Hair Remover.

Make Up Masterclass With Yasmin Christina

Last week Yasmin Christina Make Up was kind enough to invite me to her Make Up Masterclass. If you know me, you'll know I am beauty obsessed but am terrible with it comes to creating the perfect smokey eye or the ultimate brows. I am useless at going outside my comfort zone with make up, yet I buy so much of it! I went along to this masterclass in hope I'd pick up some hint and tips and that I'd learn how to create the perfect smokey eye, and I did! I feel like I came away from that evening with the right skills to create a glam smokey eye look, not as well as a make up artist, but a girl can only try, right? As Yasmin and a fellow make up artist created two different make up looks on their model, they talked us all through the products they were using, why they were using them and how to use it. 2 hours talking about make up was my idea of heaven.

Beauty Review: MAC Speed Dial Lipstick

Now that Spring is here I am changing up my make up look to make it brighter, more natural and pink toned. I really enjoy the no make up make up look of blushed cheeks, light coats of mascara and a pink lip. To me that's the perfect Spring/Summer make up look. I took to the Mac website and browsed my mouse over all the colour swatches wondering what to go for next, that's when I saw Speed Dial.

6 Tips For Buying Your First Home

The reason I've been extremely bad at blogging in the last couple of weeks is because I bought a house! It's been a crazy busy time in my life and every weekend has been full of house viewings, talking about houses, bidding on houses and spending time at the bank to buy a house. I don't blog in the week because my job is so full on so the most you'll get out of me in the week is verbal diarrhea on Twitter and Snapchat. I can't believe I've just said the word diarrhea on my blog, classy.

I feel that I have learnt so much about buying a house in the last couple of months and I wanted to share some tips with you because I've found on Twitter a lot of you guys have either bought a house or are currently buying like me. I hope you find these tips helpful if you're a first time buyer and if you already own your house, I am sure you'll sit and silently nod because you know exactly what I am talking about!

It's the weather for ice lollies and smoothies so I wanted to share my new favourite smoothie receipe. What's On My Face Right Now

My everyday make up rarely changes. I tend to become very comfortable and at home with make up products and my routine is the same daily. I have changed things up slightly in the last couple of weeks since I decided to be super brave and put some gradual tan on my ghostly white skin. I have gone for a tad darker tone in foundation and put my blusher in my draw to replace it with my bronzer for my "I have a tiny weeny bit of a tan" make up look.

Monday Motivation: Keep Blogging

For the month of April I have decided to turn every Monday into Motivation Monday, that's 4 opportunities to spread a bit of positivity and motivation around. Monday is by far the least favourite day of the week, it's the first day of a long working week where no one is really feeling inspired, which means it's the best day to share with you guys how I keep motivated for different things. Also, Motivation Monday sounds far better than Motivation Thursday. I am all about alliteration.

We've all been there with the bloggers writers block and the struggle to keep posting on our blogs daily or weekly. Motivation for blogging really comes down to your inspiration. You cannot motivate yourself to write if you don't have a subject in mind you feel inspired by. Plus, you've got to add a touch of passion to your inspiration otherwise your blog post idea is a non starter. With that said, I thought I'd share my top ways on staying motivated and inspired with blogging.

My Favourite Instagram Accounts

Instagram is a place where obsessions grow. Obsessions over beauty products, the latest trends, even people. I have been browsing Instagram far more than I have been posting on it lately as I am getting lost in certain accounts by atleast 100 weeks, perhaps I should get out more? Nah, it's so easily done and I definitely am not the only one who does this (I hope). My favourite Instagrammers (is this word in the dictionary yet?) never really changes, it only grows so I thought I'd do an updated post on this so that you can see who I think is worth getting deep into 100+ weeks with.

Monday Motiviation: Getting Through University

For the month of April I have decided to turn every Monday into Motivation Monday, that's 4 opportunities to spread a bit of positivity and motivation around. Also, Motivation Monday sounds far better than Motivation Thursday. I am all about alliteration.

I have seen a lot of dissertation talk on Twitter the last couple of weeks and that got me thinking about how on earth I managed to get myself through University and the stress it brings. I graduated in 2013 in Fashion Promotion & Communication, with what felt like a minute to spare. My University experience wasn't the best (but that's another story) and I was very driven to get finished and get out of there. That sounds really negative, there were some good parts to University. I promise. But from the moment freshers was finished I was ready to get going and get gone.

Motiviation Monday: Fitness

Also, Motivation Monday sounds far better than Motivation Thursday. I am all about alliteration.

Today's motivation is about fitness and how I get myself up and out of the house to work out.
It's been an ugly struggle getting my motivation up and running when it comes to fitness but I've finally achieved it, with the odd day of relapse. Exercise is an important part of a health lifestyle and diet and you can do it in the style of walking, running, dancing and so on. There are so many forms of exercise that there's little excuse not to do atleast one. If only picking a new Netflix series worked off calories.

Beauty Review: Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser (Dry/Sensitive)

Oh how I love a new skincare product. I've never owned a full size Liz Earle product until I decided to order the skin repair moisturiser directly from the website. I had a really great skincare routine going but all of a sudden it stopped working for me and my face began feeling like a desert. I was breaking out in horrid dry patches and my skin was rejecting any form of foundation I tried to apply. I'm not sure if my hormones are to blame, but something happened in the last couple of weeks that caused my well oiled skin routine to break down. So I turned to Liz Earle.

My Selfridges Wish List

Some would say that Selfridges is a happy place. It is. But really it is a place that holds so many things I love that are well and truly out of my reach. To keep my motivation of working hard to earn money while I also plot to rob a bank, I like to keep a Selfridges wishlist. On the wishlist are some products that realistically, are out of my reach and others that are a little closer. It's like when you create a really long to do list and add one thing you've already done onto it to make yourself feel like you've made a start. Does anyone else do that? Maybe that's just me...

Beauty Review: Sleek MakeUp Highlighting Palette in Solstice

Sleek Make Up has been grabbing my attention lately. I'd never bought from them before but after seeing a few 'wow' kind of products online, I was intrigued. I recently picked up this gorgeous highlighting palette for £10 and I have been pleasantly surprised with it, considering I didn't know what at all to expect. There are 3 shades of this palette to pick from which are Precious Metals, Midas Touch and the one I went with, Solstice. It was a tough call between Precious Metals and Solstice but the top right pink shade of this palette is what sold me, it's beautiful and with Spring just around the corner I thought it would be the perfect addition to my make up collection.

OOTD: The Statement Trenchcoat

My Trenchcoat is the perfect Primark find from last year. It's a statement piece for my wardrobe and I will wear time after time. Plus it only cost me £20. The length is over the knee which is different to majority of the trenchcoats I see making an appearance at this time of year. I enjoy that small difference. Finding key pieces like this is such a hard task in Primark so you have to be on high alert. Now that Spring is finally here peering through the rain clouds and frosty mornings, I can finally begin to wear my Spring wardrobe and box away my Parka coat and thick knits. Ok, I will admit I was chilly in my trench this day but it looked sunny outside and the coat completed the outfit... I couldn't resist.

Beauty Review: L'Oréal Paris Color Riche Nail Varnish

I may have a lot of nail varnishes but I actually dislike painting my nails. Mainly because I know all it takes is for me to put on a pair of jeans to cause the first major chip to my varnish. Sometimes I wonder what the point is with painting my nails because they're so chip-able. I can't justify getting gel nails done every month anymore as I am tempting to save (somehow) so I was looking for something revolutionary to keep my nails looking colourful yet chip free like gel nails would. I found that within the Color Riche Nail Varnishes.

Beauty Review: Are The Kyle Lip Kits Worth The Hype?

The Kylie Lip Kit is an oh so popular beauty trend right now. It's sending people crazy to the point that they are buying these products for almost triple the price on eBay, just to get their hands on them. Selling out within 5 minutes is a great thing for Kylie, not a great thing for all us beauty obsessives and our bank cards. I managed to get my hands on Dolce K and Mary Jo K and I was far too excited for them to arrive. I had high expectations for these lip products but frankly, I was disappointed.

When this beautiful playsuit hit my doormat I was very excited. I love clothes and fashion yet don't own many nice going out outfits. That could be because I don't go out as much as I used to (adulthood gave me bills to pay) but nevertheless, the feeling of getting dressed up and going out for a cocktail is a favourite feeling of mine. I've always felt more comfortable in playsuits and jumpsuits apposed to dresses so I knew instantly I'd love this. This Celine Long Sleeve Swing Playsuit is different to anything I've ever worn before with its dramatic drape back and flowing sleeves, but it's beautiful and it makes me feel beautiful. Beauty Review: MAC Retro Liquid Lipstick - Lady Be Good

I feel like one lucky lady to have laid my hands on a MAC Retro Liquid Lipstick, especially in the colour Lady Be Good. I've said many a time on my blog that airports are the best place to pick up make up and because my fiance flew off to Munich for a couple of days, that is how I got my hands on this beauty. After seeing a famous YouTuber wearing Lady Be Good, I knew I had to have it. The colour was incredible and the staying power was apparently excellent.

5 Things I've Learnt In My Career

I am currently building myself a career in Charity Retail. I may be on a secondment right now but I started from the bottom as a volunteer and I am now part of the Senior Retail Team. It's been a huge learning experience and I've developed some amazing skills. I thought I'd share today 5 things that I've learnt in my current retail career.

1. You can do anything you want
I started out as a volunteer, moved onto temporary paid work, then an E-Commerce role, followed by a role that was created just for me in Business Development and now finally I am an Area Manager. I started from the bottom of the business and made my way into the Senior Retail Team in a job I've always admired. I think that definitely goes to show that you can achieve what you want. It takes work, dedication and good skills, but you can do it.

5 Ways To End A Bad Day

link to image
Sometimes having a bad day can consume you. I find it really hard to get myself out of a bad mood after having a bad or experience. I can be a very "in my head" sort of person and I can play over and over something that upset or bothered me. I have a couple of ways to turn a bad day around so that I can enjoy it again, so I thought I'd share 5 things I do to end a bad day. This may be physically ending the day when I get home in the evening or something I do within the day to end the horrid feeling of a bad day before it really has taken over...

Listen to some positive music
Music has a control on your emotions. If you listen to sad music for long enough, you will feel sad. Putting some good music on that will make me tap my foot is almost a guarantee to get me out of my bad mood. I once read somewhere that you only sing along to songs when you're happy. So if I am singing my heart out by track 3 of a Taylor Swift album, jobs done.

OOTD: River Island Sale Purchase

I fell in love with this coat during Blogmas as I had seen it in store and on the backs of bloggers. I added it into a Blogmas post for a guide gift for her and frequently admired its beauty. I was lucky enough to purchase it for £40 (down from £75) in the sale just before Christmas.
It's now not available online but if you're lucky, you may find it in your local River Island. I adore this long fabric jacket as it feels more like a chic statement piece than a practical garment to keep me warm. The dark soft fabric feels more like a blanket than a coat and the tie around my waist works perfectly to emphasize my smallest part - winner! I am all over this design and I am so pleased to have bagged myself this in the sale.

What Is There To Love About Blogging?

What is there to love about blogging? If you're new to blogging or if you've lost your mojo then this is a post for you. Sometimes bloggers can get bogged down in stats, views and lack of comments but you've got to remind yourself that there is more to blogging then how many followers you've got.
I thought I'd share with you a few things that I love about blogging. If you have lost your mojo, this  may reinstall your faith.

I love having a place to write.
I don't really have anyone that will happily let me talk about a new skincare product for 20 minutes without thinking I'm crazy - which is why my blog was created. I really enjoy having a space to fill with my favourite things, whether that be beauty, fashion or a bit of lifestyle. It's my space to share my thoughts, opinions and photographs. I write a blog I think would be enjoyable to read - I hope anyway...

Beauty Review: MAC Rebel Lipstick

I have wanted a purple lipstick for so long, I was really feeling the winter trend and the 90s feel a purple lipstick gave. So when I received Rebel from Father Christmas (aka my fiance), I was over the moon. My MAC make up obsession started last year and is growing slowly but surely. All I seem to look at online is MAC products and reviews written by other beauty bloggers. The formulas in MAC lipsticks are incredible and my lips really appreciate them - which is why these lipsticks are fast becoming my favourite. If you've read my blog for a while you'll know about my love/hate relationship with lipsticks. My lips seem to reject the formula of lipsticks so I hardly wore them. No one wants patchy and curdled lipstick on their lips. I feel I've hit a revolution with discovering MAC lipsticks and I wish I'd known how good they were years ago.

It's been trial and error to see what I could achieve and how far I could push myself, but now I'm fully comfortable with how I am managing it all.

Laura Ashley Luxury Travel Essentials Review

Laura Ashley packaging is a dream. It's always so beautifully designed and put together, and this Luxury Travel Essential gift set is no different. The floral blue and cream pattern creates a gorgeous looking make up bag and in it are some lovely smelling products. I picked this travel set up in Boots during Christmas. It was a gift for me because I couldn't bear to give it away to anyone else!
I love all the products here's why.
